Five members of the Shocker Track Club competed this past Friday at the Jayhawk Classic on the campus of the University of Kansas, coming away with three victories. 

 

Lawson Montgomery won the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.07 after easily winning his prelim at 8.22.  STC Open athlete Sam Garrison placed 4th in the final at 8.24 (8.27 prelim).  Montgomery also got in some extra racing with a 22.93 in the 200m in between the two hurdle races.

Dylan Hartnett was busy as well, winning the 200m in 22.02, only an hour after finishing 4th in the 600 yards (1:12.96).

Danielle Chapman ran her first 800m race of the season, leading from wire-to-wire in 2:13.97.

All of these athletes plus several others plan on competing this upcoming weekend at Wichita State’s Varsity Apartments Invitational.  Come out to the Heskett Center and support these great local athletes!
