Shocker Track Club is excited to offer a November Cross-Country program for high school athletes interested in continuing with their season! Practices will generally be held beginning at 400p on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 with a meeting location on the Wichita State University Campus at the Heskett Center. Most practices will be held on the Wichita State University Campus. Alternate locations are at College Hill Park, Brown Thrush Park, and on Red Bud Trail. Such practices may have different start times.

Participating Athletes will have the option of competing in the Nike Regional Cross-Country Meet in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Sunday, November 13, 2022.  Participating Athletes also become automatic members of the Shocker Track Club Youth Team and can continue their running training indoors beginning in December.

Finally!  Complete Information for the Shocker Track Club Youth Team Indoor Fall/Winter Track and Field training program is below.  Coaching and Training is available for every event in Track and Field. The minimum age is eight (8) for new athletes. Kids can join the program at anytime between October and February. The first practice is Monday, October 3, 2022 at 615p at Wichita State University’s Heskett Center on the 2nd Floor Track. The Fillable Registration Form can be downloaded, opened, and completed and submitted directly via email.

STC Youth Team Member KateLyn Nichols finished in a tie for 4th place in the Girls 15-16 High Jump at the USATF Junior Olympics in Sacramento, California earning All-American status!  KateLyn cleared 1.50m (4′-11″) in earning the 4th place tie. KateLyn, an Inman High student-athlete, was “clean” through the first four heights of the competition and nearly cleared 1.55m.  KateLyn also competed in the 15-16 Long Jump and 15-16 Triple Jump.  Congratulations to KateLyn!!  Results >> Girls 15-16 High Jump Results

Other STC Youth Team Members competing in the Junior Olympics competed well!  Kila Respress (Goddard Eisenhower High) finished 23rd in the Girls 17-18 Shot Put with a put of 10.16m, and Eva Hilgenfeld (Whitewater Remington High) finished 10th in the Girls 17-18 High Jump with a clearance of 1.50m.

Shocker Track Club Youth Team Member, and Wichita Northwest High junior-to-be, Adryana Shelby won the Class 6A 300m Hurdles at the KSHSAA 2022 Outdoor Championship Meet.  Earlier this year, Shelby’s Father passed suddenly leaving her and her family mourning and struggling.  Read today’s article from The Wichita Eagle written by Taylor Eldridge.
