The Shocker Track Club will host a Youth (Ages 8 and Under through High School) Indoor Meet on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Wichita State University Heskett Center.  Complete details will be available this fall with online registration to be hosted by Direct Athletics. CANCELLED! STC/Wichita State Track & Field Hosts USATF Officials Certification Clinic

Shocker Track Club and Wichita State University Track and Field will co-host a USA Track and Field Officials Certification Clinic on Saturday, February 3, 2018.

The $30 Clinic will be facilitated by leadership of the USATF Missouri Valley Association with assistance from many local certified Officials.  Participants must purchase a membership in USATF, and take steps to complete the background check prior to the Clinic.

The Clinic begins at 800a in the Wichita State University Heskett Center in the 2nd floor classroom, and includes individual event instruction presented by experienced Certified Officials.  At the conclusion of the Clinic, participants can assist in the facilitation of various events in the Wichita State University Herm Wilson Indoor Track Meet!

Attention Track & Field Officials – Save The Date

Track and Field Officials interested in officiating 2017 – 2018 Wichita State University Track and Field meets are invited to an informational meeting on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., at the Wichita State University Track and Field Team Room at Cessna Stadium.  A meal will be served.  Please RSVP to president@shockertrackclub.com if you plan to attend.
Discussion will include a review of the 2017-2018 Wichita State University Track and Field schedule.  See you there!

STC Elite, Open, and Road Racing Athletes Get Busy!

Shocker Track Club Elite, Open and Road Racing athletes took advantage of sunny days in Santa Barbara (yes, you read that correctly), Wichita, and Lincoln, Nebraska, to post scores and times worthy of attention today!

Austin Bahner competed in the Decathlon in the Sam Adams Combined Events Invitational in Santa Barbara, California, and finished 2nd with 7441 points!

STC Open Team Sprinters Joshua Manuel (100m – 10.53w and 200m – 21.72w) and Aaron Babbidge (100m – 10.76w and 200m – 22.03w) stayed home to compete in the Friends University Invitational.  See below for photos of Joshua and Aaron in action!

Shocker Track Club Road Racing Elite Team Member Tonya Nero finished 1st in the Women’s competition (44:08.2), and Open Team Members Curtis Rierson  finished 2nd in the Men’s competition (45:10.6) and Emily Maier finished 17th overall (54:23.60) competed in the Hiawatha Hustle 12K event!

STC Open Team Javelin Thrower Dylan Reimer traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska to compete in the Husker Spring Invitational.  Reimer posted a season-best of 65.52m (214′-11″)!

Volunteers for WSU Track & Field Meets Needed!

If you are looking for a fun opportunity to assist in the facilitation of a Wichita State University Track and Field meet, we’ve got a deal for you!  Actually three (3) deals!  Wichita State University will host three T&F meets this spring – April 13-15, May 5, and May 12-14 – at Cessna Stadium.  Volunteers are provided with an event t-shirt and meals and beverages.  We need you!!

New Leadership for Officials Group and Youth Track Team Announced

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointments of Mike Holladay as Director of Officials, and Stephanie Knab as Director of the Youth Team.  Mike, a long-time USATF National Level Official, will provide strong oversight and experience in organizing Officials for WSUT&F and STC meets.  Mike can be contacted at officials@shockertrackclub.com.  Stephanie, a recent graduate of Wichita State and the Track and Field Team as a High Jumper, is a Science Teacher at Curtis Middle School.  She will provide strong organizational skills and a strong knowledge of Track and Field in her new leadership role.  Congratulations to Mike and Stephanie!

USATF Officials’ Certification Clinic Scheduled

The Shocker Track Club and Wichita State University Track and Field will co-host a USATF Missouri Valley Association Certification Clinic for certification of new officials, and recertification for current Officials, at the Wichita State University Heskett Center at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017.

STC Partners with Envision to Support Volunteers Group

The Shocker Track Club (STC) is pleased to announce that Envision, Inc. is sponsoring its Volunteers group. The mission of Envision is to improve the quality of life and provide inspiration for the blind and visually impaired through employment, outreach, rehabilitation, education and research. Envision is one of the largest employers of the blind and visually impaired in the United States. Through this partnership, Envision is expanding its community involvement and support for WSU programs. The nonprofit organization will have the added benefit of reaching a broad cross-section of the community to build awareness of programs and services offered to youth and adults with vision loss, regardless of their ability to pay.

Darren Muci, Shocker Track Club President, stated, “We are honored that Envision has partnered with us to support our Volunteers group. Its logo will adorn our Volunteer t-shirts, and its banner will hang at the Shocker Track Club and Wichita State Track and Field meets!  We also look forward to scheduling track events for adults who are blind or visually impaired at future STC events. Volunteers and Officials Needed!

Volunteers are needed for the Wichita State University KT Woodman Track Meet, April 13-16.  We are looking for people to work a block of time, a few hours, or a particular event. Volunteers will receive a t-shirt, meal, and gain firsthand experience assisting in running off a track meet. This is a great networking environment, especially if you are looking into coaching, training, or officiating track and field!  If you are interested contact Laura Markuly at futurist@shockertrackclub.com by April, 8th.
