Registration Opens for the 2019 STC Wichita Outdoor Masters/Open Meet!

The wait is finally over!  Registration is now open for the 2019 Shocker Track Club Wichita Outdoor Masters/Open Track Meet!  Block the late afternoon and early evening of Friday, September 20th for Throws Events, and all day on Saturday, September 21st for (morning) Horizontal Jumps, High Jump, Pole Vault, and a (afternoon) full slate of Running Events!

Due to construction south of Wichita State’s Cessna Stadium, the parking location has changed, and the stadium entrance for Registration is on the north end of the east stadium bleachers. Please review the map of Wichita State for details.

Wichita State T&F Announces Shocker Summer Series Track Meets

Wichita State University Track and Field will again host the Shocker Summer Series Track and Field Meets!  Competitors of ALL AGES are welcome!  Six (6) meets will be held on Thursday nights beginning May 30, 2019 through July 11, 2019 at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium Track. Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. with competition starting promptly at 6:00 p.m. The $5 entry fee allows registrants to compete in as many events as they desire.

STC Elite Team Members Rock in Indoor Debuts!

Shocker Track Club Elite Team Members and a Road Racing Team member competed in two locations January 19th and posted outstanding marks in what was the season debut for most!

In Wichita at the Shocker Prelude Meet – Jaimie Bookout (1st in PV), Katie Murray (2nd in HJ), Airick Johnson (14th in 60m and 2nd in 60H), Chris Peters (5th in PV), and Joseph Silvestri (9th in 1Mile) all competed well!

In Reno, Nevada, at the National Pole Vault Summit – Nick Meyers (6th in the Elite 2 PV) and Tyler Knight (3rd in the Open Coaches PV) competed well and assisted in coaching Shocker Track Club Youth Team members!

STC 2019 Bill Butterworth Indoor Schedule Released!

We are pleased to release the schedule for the 2019 Shocker Track Club Bill Butterworth Indoor Track Meet for Masters, Youth, Elite and Open Athletes!  February 1-2, 2019 at Wichita State University’s Heskett Center.

We are co-hosting the meet with Wichita State University Track and Field this year and need to note the following changes –
– Events for invited Junior Colleges and Small Colleges will be held during the day on Friday, February 1, 2019.
– Open and Elite Athletes may compete in the Meet for Junior Colleges and Small Colleges

– Field Events for Masters athletes (not including the Weight Throw) will be held Friday night, February 1, 2019.

– Running events for Masters and Youth athletes will be held Saturday afternoon, February 2, 2019.

Beautiful Weather Highlights Halloween Throws Pentathlon

Sunny skies and 70 degree weather provided for a glorious backdrop for the 7th Annual Shocker Track Club Halloween Throws Pentathlon sponsored by Shocker Fitness with Coach Bolt!  This year’s event featured a Halloween theme with some athletes competing in costume, and everyone participating in fun activities and contests!  Next year we will not contest bobbing for shot puts! 🙁

Shocker Track Club Elite Team Member, Skylar Arneson, won his 3rd consecutive Men’s Open Throws Pentathlon competition with 3719 points after winning individual competitions in the Hammer, Shot Put and Weight Throw!  Isaiah Evans and Jeff Conner (the 2012 Champion) finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Meagan Williams, competing unattached, won the Women’s Open Competition with  3605 points.  Kelsey Slawson and Amanda Kakoulias finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Ollie Bogdon – Women’s Masters Pentathlon – 1770 points
Ailisi Bogdon – Girls Youth Triathlon – 727 points

Creighton Camp – Boys Pentathlon – 2762 points

SCHEDULE CHANGE – Halloween Throws Pentathlon! A SCARY Throwing Time! October 20th

Due to a “space use” conflict, we will move the start of registration/check-in and competition back 30 minutes (e.g., Registration – 800a / Competition Start – 900a).  Please see below for the link to the revised schedule.

The annual Shocker Track Club Halloween Throws Pentathlon – sponsored by Shocker Fitness with Coach Bolt – returns this year with a new Halloween theme and Youth competition category!   Saturday, October 20th is the date; Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium/Throwing Field is the location! The registration fee is $25 for adults and $20 for youth athletes and includes a t-shirt, lunch, beverages, and a chance to win silly fun prizes!  Complete information follows!

Shocker Track Club Road Racing Team Seeks Members

Do you enjoy long distance running on the road or track, like to train with others, and have a bit of a competitive mindset?  Then the Shocker Track Club Road Racing team is for you!  Membership sign-up for the 2018-2019 season is underway!  Team members train three times weekly with an eye on competing in various road and track events during the indoor and outdoor seasons. Workout strategies are designed to challenge and strengthen your racing capabilities!

STC Elite Team Members Continue to Compete Hard!

Shocker Track Club Elite Team Members Skylar Arneson, Tyler Knight, and Brittany Kallenberger continue to compete in outstanding settings as the calendar turns to August!

Skylar competed in the Heart of America Highland Games in Kansas City (Kansas) and came away with wins and season bests of 41′ in Braemar, 55′ in Open, 113′ in the Heavy Hammer, and 137′ in the Light Hammer!
