It’s been a while since most of the Shocker Track Club Elite athletes have competed on the track so this past weekend’s annual Wichita State Intersquad Meet provided a transition into the season for seven former Shockers competing for the elite team as well as a few other on the STC Open team.

Chandra Andrews got the meet going with a solid throw of 59-8.5 to win the Weight Throw.  Andrews has won the Intersquad Weight Throw four years in a row.  Also for the women, Danielle Chapman won the 600m in 1:36.08, her third win of her Intersquad career.

The men were led by the 1-2 finish of Todd McKown and Lawson Montgomery in the 60m hurdles.  A tight race all the way, McKown edged Montgomery 8.02-8.03 in one of the most exciting races of the day.  STC Open team member Sam Garrison placed 3rd with a career best 8.17.

Dylan Hartnett won his 4th straight 300m title in 34.61 while Aaron Young won the Heptathlon with a meet record 5318 points.  While not on the STC team, board member Audacia Moore showed she still has plenty of ability with wins in the Long Jump and Triple Jump while placing 2nd in the 60m.
