He was a high school Kansas State champion in the 100 yard dash his Junior year and a dual champion in the 100 and 220 yard dashes his Senior year in 1967 while competing for Sublette (KS) High School. Coach Herm Wilson’s first year of coaching at WSU was Larry’s first year as a sprinter. He was a Shocker Track Letterman as he competed for WSU from 1967 – 1970 and was sidelined with injuries during his senior year. His best performance was 9.6 in the 100 yard dash. He also posted very fast times in the 220 yard dash (20.8) and the 440 yard dash (47.6). During his sophomore year, he walked on the WSU football team and saw some action as a split end.

Larry is currently a financial advisor with LPL Financial in Wichita, Kansas. Since 2001 he has been an active participant in Masters Track and Field, ranking as high as the top three in each of his events, the 100, 200 and 400. In other words, he is still super fast!!!
