About Chris
Chris Cralle made a big step forward in the hammer throw in 2012 when he placed second at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Unfortunately, his new personal best mark of 74.36m/243-11 missed the Olympic “A” standard to travel to London, but did help him to pick up a No. 3 national ranking for the season by Track & Field News. When Cralle left Sam Houston State University, he was regarded as one of the top throwers in the history of the program. While competing with the Bearkats, he won three Southland conference outdoor titles and was named the conference’s indoor and outdoor student athlete of the year while also receiving All-American honors. Proving his versatility, Cralle was also a Texas high school 5A state champion in the discus. He now currently serves as paraprofessional at South High School in Wichita, Kansas, in addition to his training.
