STC Weight Pentathlon Results

It was another successful Shocker Track Club Weight Pentathlon at Wichita State University on October 26, 2013.  36 athletes competed in the 5-event competition that included the Shot Put, Discus, Hammer, Javelin, and Weight.  STC’s Chandra Andrews won the women’s overall title with 3979 points while Will Lohman won the men with 3829.

There were some incredible performances at the meet.  Most notable were two new STC Elite Team members Chris Cralle and Jon Rizzo.  Cralle, who placed 2nd at the USA Outdoor Championships in 2013, threw the Hammer 242-3 while Rizzo, an all-American for WSU last year, won the Javelin with a toss of 209-3.  Both marks are very impressive performances for October.

Register Now for the STC Masters/Open Meet!

There’s still time to register for the second annual Shocker Track Club Masters/Open meet!  Adults of all ages are welcome and encouraged to “spike up” and register to compete!  The meet will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Wichita State’s Cessna Stadium beginning at 900a with the open (ALL AGES) pole vault competition.   Running events begin at 1030a.  Click here for meet information >> Wichita MastersOpen Sep7 2013 FLYER

All-American Masters Icon Honored at Inaugural Bill Butterworth Track Meet

WICHITA, Kan. – Cheered on by a personal fan club of family and friends, Bill Butterworth, 82, competed in dual events at the masters indoor track meet held Saturday, Jan. 26th, at Wichita State University’s Heskett Center.

Those cheers became a round of thunderous applause for Bill when the entire track meet was named for the longtime Masters Track and Field All-American, for his great contribution to the sport. He received a lovely plaque to commemorate the event, which will be forever named in his honor. Read More
